ABOUT US

Early Intervention Therapy For Children

As part of the Ohana Centre package of care all parents will have an initial consultation and complete a detailed assessment of their child. This is so that we can get to know you and your child and offer you the best package of support.

We understand that early diagnosis of autism or developmental delay can be very worrying for parents. Therefore, we pledge to support you to the best of our ability and to let you know what will happen every step of the journey.

We will be happy to discuss our therapeutic support and what you can expect from interventions. We will explain our protocols to make sure that we have your informed consent to embark on any interventions. We will explain our rationale and involve you every step of the way to ensure that you are happy with your child’s individualised plan.
"At Ohana Centre we believe firmly that working in partnership with parents will achieve the best outcomes for children."
Once we feel we understand your child’s needs, in consultation with you we will offer a package of support that will aid your child’s development, social, emotional and/or learning needs.

Your individual Ohana Centre package of care may involve one intervention or a combination of interventions. Your child may also be suitable for one of our specific programmes. Over time this may involve less frequent visits to the therapy centre and self-directed learning at home with our support and supervision.

From the outset we want to ensure that you understand our ethos, programmes and our obligations to you as Ohana Centre clients. At Ohana Centre we believe firmly that working in partnership with parents will achieve the best outcomes for children.

All our programmes and interventions are built around 3 vital pillars:

CHILD DEVELOPMENT

We use a child development framework to take a snapshot of where your child is currently. We look at social, emotional, physical, speech and language, sensory and drawing development

Parenting

We support you to support your child, identify your parenting style and help strengthen your skills

Relationships

We “model the model” by working to provide an inclusive, effective, supportive and empathic culture for all our clients, children, staff and multi professional team
